In the nearly 20 years as a Surrey Rental operation we have made decisions based on recommendation, quality, reliability, and most importantly (or so we thought) PRICING!! We were introduced to the Ciclofan product in the infancy of our operation. At the time there weren't many competitors so their prices were all we knew. As time went on and we became one of the premier Surrey Rental operators we began to see more and more competitors reaching out with equipment that had the look of the Ciclofan but with lower rates. As we knew how easy it became to get a return on our investment we decided to pursue other vendors and offer their products in our rental fleet. Over time (A very short period of time) we began to see many differences in the fabrication of the newer products that, in turn, affected the overall ride of the bikes. Replacement parts became another issue, at this time, with our "New" vendors and it became increasingly difficult to be guaranteed availability of the parts needed. With the right location, based on demographics, you have the potential to get a return on your capital investments per bike with-in the first 35 days of operation.
On average a surrey bike will rent between $20-$30 per hour. At that rate it would take 175 rentals to pay for the bike. That comes out to 5-6 rentals per day. Some locations will rent for the same price based on a 30 minute rental, which clearly offers the opportunity, in the right location, for a quicker return.
